Background of our adoption of baby J

Our family has been blessed with this opportunity to bring two year old Baby "J' into our family.  We are honored to have been choosen to raise this little girl and are so excited to bring her home.  First we need your prayers for her.  She has a serious congenital heart condition and we will be forever thankful for those who have supplied the funds for her first heart surgery while in China- Love Without Boundaries.

Baby "J" currently resides at LoveManor orphanage in Chongqing, China and we need to bring her home to our stable and loving home, allow her time to adjust, learn our language, and become comfortable with her surroundings and us, before she requires her next heart surgery (around 4 y/o).  Please pray for her health to remain stable, free from infections, pray for her to feel loved and nutured, and well cared for until we are able to hold her in our arms.  Pray for our paperwork for be handled expeditously and that we might travel to bring her home soon.

Ryan and I were brought to the decision of adoption after our faith was tested last year and we learned to diligently follow God even through the toughest of trials.  We realized He has greater plans for our lives than we can ever imagine and how valuable trials of life can be when we recognize that we cannot do this alone.  God has spoken to us through our trials and we have grown in our faith and learned to trust God as our sole provider.  In that we have realized that we have room in our home for another child, one that may be left behind because of a what society would classify as having a "special need".  But ironically she is perfectly and wonderfully made in His image, so why was she abandonded without hope?   We will never know, but we firmly believe and trust it is God's will for us to move forward and welcome her as our fourth child.

God has been cultivating the foundation of our family for this adoption for years.  Preparing our hearts to bring Baby "J" into our family.  When God speaks, we listen, he confirms, and we obey.  Then he gives us the strength to do amazing things.  We can make excuses, and run the other way, but this time our family has jumped in with wild abandon and said "Yes Lord, we are willing!"

As we sat in the office May 3, 2013 at American Family Children's Hospital, with the chief UW cardiothoracic surgeon, the director of pediatric cardiology, and a nurse practioner, discussing Baby J's medical condition, we all agreed there is something special about this little girl.  The UW staff have promised to support us through her journey ahead and provide her the best medical care possible when she comes home. She is so beautiful, strong, courageous and has beaten the odds so far and we are trusting with God all things are possible. - See more at: http://www.youcaring.com/adoption-fundraiser/bringing-baby-j-home/60077#sthash.tLgioXbW.dpuf
