Resting in God's Peace and Healing

One month ago we were packing three suitcases, yes three, and headed into the unknown of open heart surgery with our newly adopted three year old child.  A step of faith we knew God would see us through.  Today we can sing praises of God's glorious walk beside us and his incredible healing is her body.  She feels better, her color is improved, and although her heart will never be "fixed", life has resumed and we feel blessed with her presence in our family.  Joy comes in the loud giggles, as the windows are all down and we feel the wind through our hair.   Love is felt in the snuggles and tucked away in the those special kisses.

Huahua and Mom enjoyed planting flowers and the whole crew was able to get the garden planted even though we spent a good part of May gone on "a get away".

This is great experimental time with water.  Entertains her for a long time.  She even had her first water balloon fight with her brothers and sister.  She put up a mean front, not much punch though!

Always sporting a new fashion trend.

At a cousin's outdoor wedding, she enjoyed a quick dip in the lake to cook off.  She thought it was best to take her dress off.  She also thought Mom should take her dress off and join her.  Mom decided not a good idea at least the dress part :)  (probably not acceptable at the Christian camp!)   We're still working on social grace manners.

At home we dress like this, when she dresses herself!

Jordan and her going for a pony ride.  Love to have a sister!
1st pony ride.  For the dare devil she is.....she held on tight!

Jordan is such a special person to Huahua.  She has really stepped up in a big sister role to care and love for her.  I am so proud of Jordan how she has matured.

Look at the treasure I found under the rainbow!

So the medical update..... the latest x ray this week showed the plural effusion completely gone.  No more fluid in her pooled in her lungs! The space around her lungs still has some excess fluid, from the increased pressures.  Her appetite has been down, which has caused her to lose some weight, and not get back to pre-surgery weight as the Doctors would have expected by now. So we can be praying for her body to start to get hungry and get back eating normally.  We have reduced her diuretic dose by 25% and hope to wean meds down as we can.  Overall her energy is so much better than before surgery and I just smile at her increased endurance.  I love when she says "Huahua feels Happy!"  God has placed her right where he intended....oh was the wait worth the smiles she brings to our hearts.
