Gotcha Day #2 and Formal adoption

Okay you all probably thought we fell off the end of the earth.....well only off the end of internet connections on this side of the world.    Yes I kept asking the hotel.... is the connection usually this slow and they would say yes slow... and so I would wait as long as I would have in the moments parenting 6 children and the blog would never open up a picture or allow me to post on facebook or open my email.  Until today (actually yesterday) I have lost my patience with this hotel for numerous reasons we will not go into at this point!

Let's celebrate the reason we are here in Nanning! Joseph FENG YU  is a sweet, sweet boy!  He is more quiet and shy than the first one (we have nick named TAZ ) with a emerging personality.  He was with his foster grandparents since about age 10 months and was cared for very well.  He is used to being an only child, so were kind of a shock for him, but he is loving the siblings to wrestle with but a little unsure of all the chaos at times.  He is a climber and so athletic and will scale almost anything that looks climbable.  Yikes!  Not sure if that make ours or his heart condition worse!  He loves to sing and has a precious smile.  His foster grand parents wrote a dear letter for us which clearly laid out their love for him and their love for our family.   We are so thankful they were happy for him and his coming into our family and prepared Feng Yu with loving words.  Please pray for them as their hearts must ache for their sweet precious boy.  Why do hearts have to ache like this-- all for this little boy?  We live in a broken world, where little ones hearts are broken and people will hurt.  We pray that his grandparents in China one day will hear the gospel and we will all be reunited in heaven.   We will continue to tell him that there are so many people that love him and wanted what was best for him.

Jackson trying out one of the rental bikes on the sidewalk.  It was a double seater and he was going for the hole shot!

Pool was a little chilly the first day- but it warmed up to be close to 90 the rest of the week!  We are sizzling here!  Most of the locals are still wearing long pants and shirts.

Feng Yu accidentally tried out the slide the first day and was more cautious for the rest o the day.  A few days later he was back to climbing to slide both up and down with the water running as well!  We called him monkey boy.
As you can see the pool is in need of some major repairs.  The pool was part of our major concerns at the hotel-between requiring swim caps mid way through our stay ( somewhat discriminatory since only our family was asked to use them i.e. the family with 6 children!) and the disgusting pool deck and open holes on the deck where children could fall through!  Not a family friendly hotel and I would not recommend this hotel to families.  Asking for 8 pool towels is just about asking for them to cut off an arm!  Sorry yes we have 8 people in our family!   One more interesting note on the pool- it's socially acceptable to blow you nose poolside  and wipe in pool water, yet we have to wear a swim cap!  Go figure.  And yes I am sorry one of  kiddos puked in the pool!  Only a little bit :(

We now have two sets of twins and I think these two may have mischief on their minds.  We did receive a knock on the door because the operator was called too many times.
Big sister Jie Jie loves taking care of her little siblings and is now a twin too with her rowdy brother!
This night when we were in the park Nianjie was chasing a butterfly and would not give up until he caught it.  Fortunately is lost sight of it because it got dark!
The boys wanted a football to play in the park.  They do not sell footballs in Walmart in China.  Not a big sport here, so they settled on a soccer ball.  The boys had a great time passing the ball around.  Mom's camera caught this awesome shot of Justin!

The boys all snuggled together for bed---sweet dreams brothers :)  Mommy is in heaven!

You know how each subsequent child's baby book gets smaller and smaller.  Well we get to pick up Feng Yu and when we pull up Ryan sees him walk in the building right in front of him.  Oops oh no the camera is not ready.  So  I am getting the rest of the things & kids out of the van.  I quickly get the camera ready and Walk into the government building.  As soon as he sees us again he yells mama and baba.  I quickly snap a few pictures as he runs towards us.  He immediately knew all of us!  Thank you for his wonderful foster grandparents!  So you want to know where all those wonderful pictures are??  They will be stored in our memories forever- because Mom forgot to put the memory card back in the camera!  My heart sank!  Thankfully our guide had his I Pad and began taking pictures for us.  Thank you David :)

So these pictures are all from day two when we went back to formally adopt him!  Nanning has a different process and we felt shuffled around from building to building to complete the process.  Very different the Chongqing!  But we got it done and he is officially ours forever!

This is the assistant director of the orphanage whom he was giving a kiss.
This was the nanny (who used to be a nurse) who stayed with him during his heart surgery.  She said he was hospitalized 21 days.  She was very helpful to get information from.  She also had insight as the why that had not performed the surgery earlier.

My beautiful Chinese Princess!
The locals still try to talk with her but she no longer understands them.
And then there is Feng Nianjie who starts up a conversation with anyone as if he's running for office.  He can be so mature and seems like he understands us and other times he is out of control and all we can do is laugh!   Some examples of his absurd (unrefined) behaviors.  Licking the salt and pepper shakers.  Bringing 8 yogurts to our table- yes we all need one!  But how do you tell him to stop!  Taking the cherries off the desserts at the buffet.  Pushing all the buttons in the elevator over and over!  Playing in the cigarette sand disposable (Yuck!)  and they are all over the hotel.  Let's just say there is never a dull moment when TAZ is around!  And yet he is the one who holds the elevator door for you and must close the van door for everyone.  Pats the back of the one who is crying, passes out food to everyone first, before himself, even candy and gum!  Wants to snuggled and loved in the morning with the best hugs and kisses.  He can have the best of break downs but oh can he love back when he's ready.   These children are precious and how did we become so lucky to be granted to be their parents.
--"TAZ"--
We get such a kick out of all the scooters here.  The boys have been known to be cheering them on as if it is a race.  We have made a few people laugh!  Just spreading the joy!
Yep, babies ride the scooters too!  Some will even be sleeping!!!!

Here's the gymnast at work!  And finding his vocal cords at dinner.  He's usually pretty quiet We move onto the Guangzhou tomorrow.  Our final destination city!!!!! For one more week.  This is where we will have medicals and the boys will be issued visas to travel to the USA!  We are on the home stretch!  Pray for the little ones O2 stats as he is running quite low.  He started in the mid 80s and has dropped as low as 63 at resting with a heart rate of 140.  He has been running in the low 70's for O2 for average.  Pray for him to be able to make the long flight home without medical intervention.
